Webber professional grade grill pan (2010-10-06)
Very satisfied with the grill pan. It works great with veg. amazon verified purchase

Top Quality (2010-05-23)
Don't buy the cheap coated grill pans. They warp and become useless. This is the real deal for anyone serious about grilling.

Great Grilling (2009-08-03)
This pan does what Weber says it will do. No warping, very sturdy, good sized handles so with the proper glove one doesn't worry about mishandling a very hot pan. My veggies come out great with very little mess and no more slices of anything lost to the fire. It also worked great in my oven broiler.

good grill pan (2009-07-04)
While I was looking for a deeper basket, it holds more than you would think, and goes in the dishwasher.

Another Quality Product from Weber (2008-04-06)
The first thing you'll notice about this product is that the price seems remarkably fair given the quality.

This is truly grilling made easy - you can throw anything on this pan and you're good to go: veggies, baked potatoes, flakey fish.

I agree with the other reviewer about cleanup being a little tough, but truly it is no tougher than all the other stainless steel cookware we use - it's all a PITA but worth it in the long run.

Useful and well made (2010-09-26)
This is a nice apron for grilling. It has a number of pockets which are great for thermometers, timers and other gadgets you might need, and the built-in bottle opener is at least amusing even if you don't use it often. The loop that goes around your neck is the same strap as the back ties so it is somewhat adjustable (you can shorten the neck loop by lengthening the back ties and vice versa). Pockets are all rather wide, except the one the bottle opener is attached to (which we reserve for that and bottle caps), so objects like cell phones often rotate and lay on their sides at the bottom which may make them harder to grab. Overall, the quality seems high and the detailing is nice.

Weber quality with a bottle opener (2010-07-12)
This is an apron with a bottle opener attached. Done, and done. Seriously though, this is a great quality apron. It's about twice as thick as the "Kiss the Cook" type aprons you can get at the supermarket, and it looks more like what a man would want an apron to look like. It basically looks like they took a car mechanics uniform and turned it into an apron.

It has a small pocket at the top for a probe thermometer, a wide but not deep pocket in the middle, and a beer sized pocket to the side. It also has a bottle opener attached with a little cord.

It would be better with the addition of a small pocket for recipe cards and the like. Also, the neck hole is a little larger than I would prefer. I'm not tucking briskets under my chin or anything, but splashes do happen.

BTW I bought this because I ruined a pair of shorts when I bumped into a greasy part of my grill. Live and learn.

Update: I overlooked the fact that the neck strap and waist ties are all the same thing. It's just one long strap, and you can adjust the neck hole accordingly.

So far so good, nice BBQ apron! (2010-06-09)
I got this for my husband as an early Father's Day gift. We tried using a apron we had but it wasn't heavy duty enough and looked girly. :) This one is perfect. It's Weber which means it'll last a long time. (I have their 3 BBQ tool set and it looks like brand new after over a year). It has a simple design, is thick material, and the added pockets, adjustable neck strap, and beer can opener! are great add-ons. He likes it and it keeps the flying grease and burning bits off his clothes and body when grilling.

Easy to setup, looks cool, very functional (2010-10-19)
always get good feedback from friends and neighbors.

very easy to setup.

like the glossy black finish.

I would buy this again.

Love it! (2010-10-04)
This is one nice little fireplace. Easy to assemble and the quality is there to last just as to be expected with anything weber has its name on. Looking for a firepit without having to spend a fortune? One that will last season after season? This is it.

Great patio fireplace (2010-09-05)
I had shopped around for a patio fireplace for a couple of years. I didn't like any of the ones sold in the chain stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Sears, etc.). They were poorly built and looked like they would rust out quickly. The more quality built ones were too expensive for what essentially is just a fire ring. I stumbled across the Weber Wood Burning Fireplace and after a little research purchased it. Like all things Weber, it isn't the most flashy or even the best but it is well designed, sturdy, and should last for years. We have used ours once and I will share a number of observations and comments on previous reviews.

First, the small aluminum bowl underneath the fire bowl is not an ash catcher. It is a heat shield. This fireplace should not be used on a wood or composite deck. We have a brick patio and it is safely used there.

Second, where we live (Central, OH) there is no need for a screen around the fireplace. Perhaps in more fire prone areas it would be a good idea, but then again, should you have an open fire in those areas? For my uses a screen is not useful or needed and would just make adding fuel more difficult.

Third, to the commenter who said the fireplace is too smokey, it's the green wood you burned that produced the smoke, not the fireplace. I used well seasoned wood as anyone should and it produced about as much smoke as one would expect.

Fourth, you do not need to use the lid but there is one major advantage to doing so when the weather is cool: the lid helps direct heat down rather than allowing it all to rise quickly. In other words, it keeps more heat down at chair level when you're sitting around the fireplace.

Fifth, the lid does indeed smother the fire quickly. The lid is just tight enough to smother the fire. That's a huge plus since it means you don't have to wait until the fire dies out on its own to go inside. Nor do you have to douse the fire with water to put it out. In the case of this product, I'd recommend you don't do that anyway unless you want to ruin the porcelain finish.

Sixth, it took about 30 minutes to assemble. Even though the handles are wooden, you will still need heavy gloves to move the lid out of the way and move the riser. I have the 2010 model and the handles are sturdy and solid.

good firepit. needs a screen (2010-08-27)
Good firepit. Looks nice. too smokey...wish it had a screen. as with all of these products, don't leave it in the rain/snow.

the bottom part is not an ash catcher! put water in there to prevent the heat from scorching your deck (which can happen with other firepits...which must be placed on a nonflamable surface like concrete, tile, brick, or rock).

A fire pit and more (2010-08-24)
I bought this wood burning fireplace this year and am very impressed with it. The lid comes in handy to snuff out the fire when done, it allows the bowl to stay dry 24/7 unlike the firepits at box stores, and it keeps animals away from any residual food if you cook on it. I have purchased a "Rome's #123 Camp Ring Grill Grate" at 24 & 1/2" to cook on as it fits exactly in the aluminum ring. It sits either high towards the top or low towards the bottom on the bolts of the assembly. however, I purchased four cheap spring clamps to attatch to the aluminum ring and my grate adjusts to any height by simply moving the springs up and down the four verticle posts and placing the grate on them. The bowl accepts fairly large logs which is nice. Don't forget to add a layer of sand to the bottom per the instructions to protect the enamel as that instruction is not easily seen. Time will tell how long it lasts but it seems very sturdy and other reviewers report a long life. I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it.

Customer Reviews

Be sure you buy the cover! (2010-06-12)
A very hiqh-quality piece, this is my third or fourth Weber gas grill, not counting the several charcoal kettles I've had over the years. Quite heavy, much more than my Genesis model that it replaced. I read the reviews before purchasing and want to reinforce the need to buy the proper (and non-vented!) cover for this grill.

If you leave it uncovered in the rain, be prepared for a real mess. The grease collection system acts like its supposed to, funneling everything that falls through the grate into the drip pan - including rain that gets in through all the vent holes above the burners. Even a moderate rain, 1/2 inch or less, will fill the drip pan to overflowing and the grease inside will float off the top and into the interior cabinet. Unpleasant and messy to clean up.

The cover you want is the Weber 7554 premium cover for the Summit 400-series.

What a purchase!!! (2009-12-29)
I brought this product to my homeland, Colombia. I live in Bogotá, 2,650 meters above sea level, where oxygen is 30% less. With this LP grill I get enough caloric power (BTU's) for wonderful and fast BBQ's. Natural gas has nearly 50% less calric power, so I would not recomend it for high altitudes.

I am absolutely happy with my new S-470 Weber grill, and, at this stage, I have no complaints at all. It has a neat manufacture which I am sure, it will give me many many years of grilling pleasure.

Works at it should (2009-11-07)
Ive had this grill for 6 months now and am happy to report all is well.

- Very easy to set up. Maybe 20 minutes. Just connect the main pieces
- Heats quickly and can get to around 750 F with all burners firing
- Searing element works well
- Night light is great after dusk. Just the right amount of light
- Attracts finger sprints and dirt but to be expected from stainless steel
- Infrared Rotisserie works well the first time I used it. Chicken was moist and golden brown
- Had a problem with the rotisserie motor and one call to Weber had a new one at my front door in 2 days. They were great.

Happy and would buy again

Paid for Weber reputation, found service lacking (2009-08-08)
I had a Genesis for years that I loved and we purchased a SS grill from BBQ Galore to replace it. Boy was that terrible. So I bit the bullet and sprang for one of these pricey Summit S-470's thinking that it would work well and last a long time and Weber would stand behind it.

When I started looking for the grill cover to purchase with it, I read the reviews from people that said there were vents in the top of the grill cover that allowed water into the inside cabinet where it would overflow the drip pan and make a mess. Worried about that, I got the grill but decided to wait and see if my existing grill cover (without vents) would work on it. Unfortunately it wasn't big enough, and it rained the night after I first used the grill to make baby back ribs and sure enough, there is a definite design flaw on these grills that channels water from the outside of the grill right into the inside into the drip pan. I had a huge disgusting mess to clean up, grease covered everything inside the cabinet, and water also got on the rotisserie forks and they showed rust despite the grill only being a few days old and the forks had never been used.

Thinking that with Weber's sterling reputation they would have a solution to this, I emailed customer service and asked them about the pan overflow problem and told them I heard the grill covers had holes in the top that allowed the problem to occur even when covered. Their reply completely ignored the pan overflow problem, no apology for the mess I had to clean up, no explanation of what they are doing to fix the problem, nothing. As for the vent cover, they explained that the vents were necessary to prevent moisture collection and early rusting, but that based on customer feedback, they redesigned the cover to remove the vents. I had asked in my email why the vents weren't on the back instead of the top, but that inquiry was ignored as well. They said that in order to make sure I got one of the new covers without vents to order from their store (which of course is more expensive than Amazon and you have to pay shipping).

So, to make sure I got the correct grill cover without the top vents, I called their store and ordered one. I specifically said I wanted one of the redesigned covers without vents and she put me on hold and came back and said that wouldn't be a problem. Of course when it arrived and I put it on, it had the vents. I couldn't believe it.

I just got off the phone with them again. I immediately asked to speak to a manager and sat on hold for a long time and the rep came back on and basically I was told that it was not possible for me to speak to a manager. She was very polite, and offered to send one without vents (although she couldn't tell me when one would be available), and to refund my original shipping charge and to pay for return shipping. That's about all I wanted, but if I have a complaint and want to speak to a manager, I should be able to. Again, I was never offered an apology for the incorrect cover I received or for the mess that I've had to clean up (twice at this point). For a company that is charging premium prices based on its reputation, I have been completely underwhelmed by their customer service.

As for the grill itself, besides the design flaw that will overflow your drip pan and make a disgusting mess and makes the inside of the cabinet pretty much useless for holding stuff, it seems to be a great grill. I used the sear station but the expensive steaks turned out overcooked because they don't give any instructions on how to properly adjust the cooking time versus their normal instructions (for example in their Steak Boot Camp pamphlet). I emailed and asked if they had any tips on properly using the sear station and was basically told no, that I had to experiment with it. Hopefully I don't ruin too many more expensive steaks "experimenting" with it since they can't be bothered to tell people how to use a key selling feature on a nearly $2000 grill.

Overall, I'm sure I will eventually figure out how to cook with it well and it is sturdy and will last a long time. But apparently for the rest of the grill's life I will have to make sure the grill cover (assuming I can get ahold of the proper one) is put back on when I'm done. I know in the past with grills I've forgotten to put it back on after the grill cools down. If I do that with this grill, I'm likely to get a gross disgusting gooey mess if it rains. Very disappointing on a grill that costs this much.

Finally Did It... Worth It... (2009-06-07)
Owned too many grills $250-$500 moving every three years...
Researched for months... really looking at three burner Weber...
Friends Webers lasted and cooked well...
First meal was Copper River Salmon at 350 degrees X 10 min per inch... Fantastic...moist... tasted great... grill marks...
Preheats to 600 degrees in 12 minutes...
Looking forward to seared steaks, rotisserie chicken and roasts...
Easy to put together and tested... no leaks found...
This will work well even when the snow is falling....

3 LED lights illuminate your grilling surface. Toggle switch automatically turns light on when the lid is opened and turns light off when the grill is closed. A must have for all serious grillers. Fits Spirit, Genesis and Summit grills with round plastic or stainless steel handles.
Amazon.com Review
When barbecuing, the chef always risks burning that carefully-seasoned rump roast to a crisp. Whether a minor household emergency calls the chef away from duty or the grill heats up with unusual speed, blackened hot dogs and charred veggie kabobs happen. Thus the barbecue aficionado must do his or her best to show vigilance over the open flame, keeping the eyes on the juicy, tender prize. This task becomes particularly challenging during the winter months when daylight ceases before the typical workday ends. The barbecue specialists at Weber recognize the need for visibility in grilling and the overall poor quality of built-in barbecue lights. To combat these challenges, Weber created their Grill Out handle light.

The handle light features water- and heat-resistant nylon housing, reinforced with glass for increased durability. Three LED bulbs illuminate the grill, activated by a tilt-switch sensor when the grill lid rises. A manual on/off button also ignites the light. The LED bulbs shine for a lengthy 10,000-hour lifetime while three AAA batteries power the light for approximately 20 hours. Weber designed the handle light for Weber Genesis and Summit grill models, though the two included mounting brackets also may accommodate other grills with circular thermoplastic or round stainless-steel handles. Mounting instructions and hardware accompany the light, but batteries must be purchased separately. This item weighs 12 ounces upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

This is great - it's simple and it works (2009-06-10)
This is great. It installed on my grill in seconds and it does exactly what it's supposed to. It's brighter than I thought it would be and it's nice that it turns on and off when you raise or lower the lid. The batteries have lasted almost two years with no issues at all (moderate use). It's a lot better than trying to use a flashlight or something else.

It's simple and it works.

Only for Weber (2009-03-09)
I bought this product thinking it would work on on our Barbeques Galore barbeque. The clamp on the light would not tighten enough to stay put on the handle on our barbeque. I returned it. I think it would probably work well on the barbeque it was designed for.

Does just what you expect (2008-11-30)
A little tricky to put together, but once we got thru it, it was easy to use and gives you just enough light to see what you are doing. We've got a lot of bugs at night, so this is much better than turning on the big over head light so we don't attract all those bugs.

Easy to install and works like a charm. (2010-09-17)

Great Weber upgrade (2010-08-05)
The burners on my Weber grill had rusted/corroded and were just barely functional. The stainless steel replacement burners were a great upgrade and very easy to install. I should have done it long ago.

weber stainless steel burner tube set (2010-05-12)
This burner renewed my older weber gas bbq to a nearly new efficiency extending it's life for years to come.

easier than I thought (2010-05-01)
When my old tubes rusted out, I thought I would need to buy a new grill. I ordered this burner set and it took me (a clutz of epic proportions) about 15 minutes to rerig my grill. It is a new grill, and I like to grill a ton. Glad I made this decision.

Replacement Parts for Weber Grill (2010-04-29)
I have an old Genises 2000 grill, the burner assembly finally went out. I was reluctant to ordere the parts from Amazon, the description and the pictures on line didnt look quite right. I order the parts with the idea if it didnt work i would return them. I recieved the parts faster than expected. I opened the box and thought, this isnt going to work...well maybe. As it turns out the parts fit like a glove with no problems at all. The written directions were hard to follow because the assy is for more that one grill but like any other guy ..I followed the pictures. I took about 20 minutes to change out the parts. Steaks on the grill.
