Amazon.com Review
Just in time for the cookout season, Weber expands its popular Q liquid propane barbecue line with the Q 300 propane gas grill. This full-size model maintains and often expands upon the tabletop original's conveniences, while benefiting from more permanent patio installation. The liquid propane grill employs two 13,850 BTU burners to heat its 393-square inch cooking area, providing space for several dozen hot dogs or even a medium-sized turkey.

Weber crafted the grill's tall lid and body in tough cast aluminum, framed by a heat- and moisture- resistant nylon frame with glass reinforcement. A simple push-button ignition fires up the stainless-steel burners. Users adjust the burners' output with a control knob and monitor the heat on a built-in thermometer in the lid. Meat cooks evenly on top of the two cooking grates. Constructed in sturdy cast-iron construction and porcelain enameling, the grates resist warping and rusting while cleaning with relative ease. Drip ducts help direct and collect greasy drippings. Two polyethylene side tables attach to create extra preparation space. Spatulas and tongs can be hung from the tool holders on the grill's frame. The provided regulator hose connects the grill to a separately purchased 20-pound propane tank, which stows unobtrusively on a lower shelf. Weber supplies users with hardware to bolt the grill in place and also bestows their Q cookbook. To clean the cooking surface, use mild detergents and avoid steel wool. The grill requires some minor assembly. Weber offers a limited five-year warranty for this item. With the lid closed, the grill measures 44 by 36-1/2 by 22 inches. This product weighs 84-2/3 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Customer Reviews

Best of the best. (2010-06-25)
The Weber Q Series is a great series of grills. I had the Q200 and loved it for the RV and camping. When my old grill passed away I immeditarely decided to order the Q300 for the home. It is even greater with the two burners. The porcelain coated cast iron grill is so easy to clean and the heat is so even. The price is a little high, but the quality and performance are certainly there and Amazon's price was the lowest with the free shipping. The only downside was the wheels were left out of the box. Weber got those to me very quickly and registered the grill over the phone. I am very happy with the grill, cover and drip pans.

Great! (2010-06-24)
Grill is great! Had to assemble it and found one of the legs on the back cradle was broken. Called Customer Service late one evening and the guy was so nice and helpful. The new piece was sent out overnight. So far so good!

Cookin with Weber (2010-06-23)
This grill is great the heat control is fantastic, it allows you to cook without charring your food however if you want it charred you can do that too. The grill surface is great also, heavy duty and non stick. This grill is much more than I ever expected, glad I replaced my old grill. The Weber makes my old grill seem like it was from the Flintstones.

Excellent Grill (2010-06-17)

First impression, very good (2010-06-10)
I bought this grill only after reading all the reviews for the device. Unfortunately I was bitten by the same shipping issue that several other users have mentioned. One of the legs on the plastic undercarriage of the grill was broken upon delivery. Again, Weber customer service walked me through registering the product and replacing the broken part. I haven't yet received it (4 weeks or so in), but I haven't called them again yet. I have no doubts that replacement won't be an issue. Fortunately, I was still able to assemble and use the grill.

As far as the product itself, it heats up quickly and has an excellent heat distribution across the grill. My parents had a cheap Char-Broil gas grill growing up that had plenty of hot and cool spots on the grilling surface. Nothing like that here. The grill plates are sturdy and maintain even heat across the surface. I'm still in the experimentation stages right now, but so far this grill seems like it was worth what I paid for it.

My only complaint may be something that's mentioned in the user manual: the shiny surfaces on the interior of the grill before it has crusted over causes things to heat very quickly. Following the directions in the grilling guide hasn't worked out exactly, but I'd like to experiment after the interior of the grill has dulled down some.

In summary (so far), I would recommend this grill to anyone looking to buy a good quality grill for a reasonable price.
