These grates are identical to the original grates supplied with the Weber grill- just as expected. It's nice to have extra grates so we can cycle them from grill to dishwasher and never be without a clean grate.

Porcelain Coated Steel (not cast iron) (2010-06-11)
Bought these to replace the heavy cast iron grates that originally came with my Weber grill. They work and you can get a good sear on the first set of items that go on the grill, but these lightweight stamped steel grates don't hold heat like the heavy porcelain coated cast iron ones. There's nothing wrong with them, and they do the job effectively... just not as well as my old grates. I'd go back to the old ones, but the porcelain chipped off in enough places over the years that they're simply too rusty to use now.
Photo not correct, lesser grate (2010-05-04)
This is an authentic Weber Grid, but Product Code 7523 is just a thin steel grate with porcelain coating (hollow underneath, with cross reinforcements). The photo above is straight grates indicating the cast iron porcelain product code 7524. I am attempting to upload example photo.
My OEM grates are actually much nicer cast-iron porcelain coated product code 7524. I'll have to return and get the right ones. My mistake for thinking they could be this inexpensive.
