Like everyone else says, what a great grill! (2010-09-06)
This grill is all you want if you have been dealing with the many "made in China" grills that are sold out there now. SOLID construction, well designed and built in the USA. Mine replaces a Tuscany that was purchases from Costco three years ago and is already totally, completely rusted out on the inside. This will NOT happen with this grill.
Heats up fast the heavy cast iron grates (season them first!) are striping your steaks FAST! This grill just oozes quality.
To top it off, it was on sale at Lowes for $499.00 assembled.
Best Grill For the Money (2010-08-13)
Sure you can get a cheaper Big Box Grill, but it won't perform like a Weber.
I've tried using cheaper grills, but that is exactly what you get. Shoddy performance, hot/cold spots, ignition system that don't work, flimsy materials. This Weber has NONE of those issues.
It is well made and that is apparent the first time use it. The lid is heavy and solid. The ignition system lights on first press. Gas is easy to control and I haven't had any cold spots. Everything that I have grilled has come out perfectly. My family loves the perfectly seared steaks and chicken. Even the mundane, like hot dogs come out perfectly. The grill easily heats to over 500F,(I can get 550-600F as well) which is essential for searing.
The tank gauge has been pretty accurate and serves as a good reminder of when to get more gas.
We had some windstorms with over 70 mph that knocked my other grill down. The Weber held up and just sat there, waiting to come back for more. It's a Tank!
I had an issue with one of the control knobs, called Weber. Answered on first ring with a knowledge person. Shipped out new knob to get the next day, problem solved!
This grill doesn't come with a cover, but I would suggestClassic Accessories 73912 Veranda Cart-Style Barbecue Cover, Medium, 58 Inch Medium size. Fits perfectly and looks great!

Easy asssembly, you don't even need to be literate to follow the instructions, as pictures guide you through the process. Once together, this beauty heats to 550 degrees in no time at all. If you want a quality grill that will last you forever the, Weber Genesis is for you
Grill of a lifetime (2010-07-12)
Never realized a grill can be this rock solid in it's construction. Heats very evenly and never flares up for more than a second or two if grease drips. I wouldn't expect any grill to not do it. The grill's casters are very solid and the grill can be moved easily. I can tell this is probably the last grill for a long time for this 45 yr old!

I've had our Genesis 310 for about a month now, and I love it. Very convenient having it delivered via Amazon. It took my son and I about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to put together. It's a little daunting when you lay all the parts out, but generally it's pretty straightforward (definitely a 2-person job, though). But best of all is the consistent reliable grilling. After years of struggling with charcoal, what a relief to be able to rely on the temperature settings. I've cooked fish, steaks, and chicken and all have turned out great. I bought the rotisserie as well, and just made a great chicken. I definitely recommend it.
