It lasted three years (2010-06-04)
I purchased a cover from OSH's about three plus years ago. I does not have the side vents and protected my grill from rain etc but after a couple of years it started to develop holes where it meets the side tables. Guess I'll have to plunk down another $50...
Weber 7553 has no vents and appears fine! (2010-05-09)
Today is May 8, 2010. Yesterday I assembled my new Weber S320 gas grill and went out to get a good grill cover for it. I read horrible reviews of the Weber s310/320 grill cover. People said it had vents in it that the rain just poured through, a couple others said it was cheap and cracked easily. Granted, I have only had my Weber 7553 grill cover one day, but I can tell you this: the 7553 has NO vents and appears to be manufactured just fine, made of heavier material than I expected (having read some comments). The velcro straps on the side allow tightening, which is good since it can get real windy in Portland sometimes.
Either people were writing reviews of a different product, or Weber heard the customer complaints and fixed the product. In any event, there is nothing wrong with the Weber 7553 grill cover. Just like the beautiful Weber grill I put together, it appears to be another quality Weber product.
Lowes and Home Depot and some Ace Hardware stores (can vary widely) carry the 7553 grill cover.
Just be sure you get the 7553 grill cover if you have a series 300 Weber Genesis grill. There are others available that look just like it for the Spirit and Summit grills. I am assuming that you'd get a better fit buying a cover for the right model.

I purchased a Weber 7553 grill cover after purchasing my Genesis 320 grill. I was surprised that it had the vents on the side, and the first time it rained, I had puddles of water on both side tables, the side burner cover, and the burner controls. I contacted Weber, and they told me this was done to allow for ventilation, and there wasn't a "ventless" product available.
This spring, the first time I used the grill, I removed the cover and it tore on the seams holding the vents to the rest of the cover. I contacted Weber, and informed them of the problem. They asked for some pictures of the tag inside the cover, and some proof of the damage. After they received this, they said they were replacing my old cover free, and then asked if I wanted a "vented" or "ventless" cover. Of course, I chose "ventless" and got my replacement in just a few days!
Cudos to Weber for listening to their customers, and for standing behind their products!
NO VENTS !!! (2009-10-30)
I'm thinking that Weber finally tossed the vented cover design after many complaints, although the woman at Webber and the people at ButterflyPhoto still thought they came with vents.
I received my cover from ButterflyPhoto today and it has no vents.
Im assuming that the old vented model has now been flushed out of the supply chain and only the non-vented model is available.
Happy grilling people!
